El Indio Natural – Boozy, Fruity Colombia from Planadas
🍇 Passion Fruit // Chocolate // Wine // Orange // Boozy Finish 🍊
Think boozy fruit salad meets dark chocolate. This is Colombia doing what it does best—natural process magic from Tolima.
Juicy passion fruit up front, rich chocolate depth, a splash of wine-soaked orange, all wrapped in a silky, full body. It's sweet, it's complex, and it's seriously moreish—one of my favourite coffees from one of my favourite regions.
Grown 1,500–2,150 m up in Planadas, Tolima, this lot is 100% Caturra—a mutation of Red Bourbon first identified in Brasil. Unusually pure for Colombia, and it shows in the cup. The cherries are carefully hand-picked at peak ripeness, hand-sorted to remove defects, then sun-dried on raised beds under temperature-controlled conditions until they hit the perfect moisture content. The result? A light roast with high sweetness, balanced acidity, and that signature boozy punch.
